The Plextor drives have served me well overall, but if people have equally good or even better ripping experiences with other drive brands I would like to hear them. I use dbPoweramp 15.1 with optimized secure rip settings for these two drives, and they have proved to be worthy successors of PX-40TS. These days, my two favorite drives for CD ripping are: Plextor PX-880SA and PX-716SA DVD multi-writers. Plextor advertised "bit by bit accuracy" for audio ripping for the PX-40TS series, and it delivered a great combination of rip speed and rip accuracy. Until a few years ago I've been using a Plextor PX-40TS CD-ROM with SCSI interface, installed into a WinXP PC via an Adaptec SCSI card.
